Executive Summary

Fisting lube recipes cataloged in various formats, including single and multi-ingredient recipes, recipes by principal ingredient (base), and recipes by individual specific ingredient.

Crafting Lube

Economical options for ready-to-use fisting lubrications are very limited. A typical session uses between 250 to 500 mL (1 - 2 cups) of lube per person. Many fisters prepare and package their own special recipes for their play sessions.

Single Ingredient Recipes

Single ingredient recipes consist of lubricants that have a single base without a secondary base. These recipes typically require minimal preparation and have short set times.

Multi-ingredient Recipes

Multi-ingredient recipes involve combining at least two bases to create a liquid or cream lubricant. These recipes usually require thorough preparation. The set times for multi-ingredient lubes are typically shorter than those for single ingredient ones, and highly viscous creams tend to have brief set times.

Glycerine Lubes

Glycerine is an atypical fisting lube base due to its rapid dehydration by tissues in the fist chute. There are very few, if any, recipes that use glycerine as the primary base ingredient. It is added as a secondary ingredient that may augment certain characteristics of the primary base.

A primary active ingredient in Elbow Grease and Boy Butter is glycerine. If the recipe's only source of glycerine is Elbow Grease or Boy Butter, the recipe will be labeled with (EG) or (BB) respectively in the index below.

The following recipes include glycerine and are sorted by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)

Lipid Lubes

Lipids are usually natural oils derived from plants or animals. The most famous fisting lubricant, and the original fisting lubricant of the modern age, is a lipid: Crisco. Lard may have been used for fisting prior to the invention of shortening and other lubricants.

Coconut oil and shea butter are lipids and common ingredients of fisting lubes.

Avoid using lipid-based lubes with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids (fats) will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

A primary active ingredient in Elbow Grease is seed oil lipid. If there are no other lipids included in a recipe except for Elbow Grease, the recipe will be labeled with (EG) in the index below.

A primary active ingredient in Boy Butter is coconut oil. If there are no other lipids included in a recipe except for coconut oil from Boy Butter, the recipe will be labeled with (BB) in the index below.

The following recipes include lipids and are sorted by liquids and creams:

Emulsifier Base: PEO | Water

Polyethylene Oxide (PEO) lubes include J Lube, K Lube, X Lube, and FFäusten Lube. Fist Powder also has a PEO ingredient.

The following PEO lube recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

Emulsifier Base: Gums | Water

Gum lubricants can be made from various thickening agents, including xanthan gum, guar gum, locust bean gum (LBG) also known as carob bean gum, and tara gum. Fist Powder also has a xanthan gum ingredient.

The following xanthan gum recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Solids
  • N/A

Silicone Lubes

Silicone lubes are ready-made commercial lubes. There are very few, if any, recipes that use silicone as the primary base ingredient. It is added as a secondary ingredient that may augment certain characteristics of the base. It can also act as a preservative additive in some cases.

Silicone is a primary active ingredient in Boy Butter. If the only source of silicone in a lube recipe is Boy Butter, then the recipe is labeled (BB) in the index below.

The following recipes include silicone and are sorted by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)

Petroleum Distillate Lubes

Petroleum distillates include products made or acquired in the petroleum industry such as mineral oil, baby oil, and petrolatum (petroleum jelly).

Like lipid-based lubes, petroleum ingredients will create a smoother texture and increase the time between reapplication of lube. If used as a base coat, petroleum distillates can protect the mucosal lining of the fist chute.

Avoid using petroleum distillates with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

Because mineral oil and petrolatum are primary active ingredients in Elbow Grease, any recipe using Elbow Grease is included in the index below and labeled (EG).

The following recipes include silicone and are sorted by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A

Albolene

Albolene is sold as a paraben-free skin moisturizer and make-up remover. Most bros use it as jack-off grease.

As the ratio or Albolene to other liquid ingredients equalizes, the lube becomes extremely or extraordinarily thick (Level IX and X).

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following Albolene recipes are organized alphabetically and separated by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Liquids (Multi-ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A

Aqueous Cream

Aqueous Cream, also known as sorbolene, is a body moisturizer, especially formulated to help moisturize dry, cracked, and flaky skin. Primary ingredients vary by brand and may include glycerine, petroleum distillates, lipids, and PEO. Since there is no consistency in ingredients, there is no individual breakouts by these components (unlike Elbow Grease and Boy Butter).

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following Aqueous Cream/Sorbolene recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A

Boy Butter

Boy Butter is the safest lube on the market according to suggested norms that are established by the WHO. It is a combination of lipids (coconut oil), gums (guar), silicone (trimethicone) and other slippery ingredients (glycerine). While too expensive to use for a single session, as a hybrid ingredient it can enhance many of the qualities of its partner bases. Like Albolene, many bros use it for beating off.

Also like Albolene, as the ratio of Boy Butter to other liquid ingredients equalizes, the lube becomes thicker — (Level VII, IIX, and IX).

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following Boy Butter recipes are organized by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredients)
  • N/A

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is an organic, all-natural lipid that melts just below body temperature. As a hybrid ingredient, it adds a unique scent as well as a layer of protection to mucosal membranes.

Although some fisters use nothing but coconut oil, in most recipes, it's always a secondary base and has a low ratio to the primary base. Coconut oil often creates a mild cream effect.

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

Because coconut oil is a primary active ingredient in Boy Butter, any recipe using Boy Butter is included in the index below and labeled (BB).

The following coconut oil recipes are separated by liquids and creams:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A

Elbow Grease

Elbow Grease is a pre-mixed fisting lube composed of glycerine, petroleum distillate, and lipid bases. The primary active ingredients are Crambe Abyssinica seed oil (a lipid), petrolatum, and mineral oil. Crambe Abyssinica oil demonstrates anti-aging and anti-inflammatory processes.

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following Elbow Grease recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Multi-ingredient)
  • N/A

FFäusten

FFäusten is a alphabet lube with the active ingredient of PEO. There are no additives nor preservatives in FFäusten.

The following FFäusten recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • N/A

Guar Gum

Guar gum is a gel forming powder made from legumes called guar beans. It thickens and applies slightly better than xanthan gum and washes away with the same ease as xanthan.

It is found in many food products, cosmetic products, and lotions. For example, Cornhusker's Lotion has a guar gum compnent to help thicken and bind the lotion's other ingredients together.

Lubes listed in this section may use guar gum directly as a primary ingredient, or indirectly through a lotion or hand cream.

The following Guar Gum recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • N/A

J Lube

As the original 'modern' fisting lube, there are multiple recipes for preparing J Lube as a single ingredient fisting lube or multiple ingredient fisting lube.

Most single ingredient recipes are liquids, with Level VI or lower viscosities. Multiple ingredient recipes can be liquids or creams (Level VII and above. Various additives can be added without changing the character of the lubrication, including its viscosity and lubricity.

The following J Lube recipes are organized alphabetically and separated by liquids and creams:

K Lube

K Lube was the first PEO emulsifier crafted exclusively for fisters.

By itself, it is a liquid with Level IV, V, and VI viscosities. Multiple ingredient recipes can be liquids or creams (Level IV to Level X). Various additives can be added without changing the character of the lubrication, including its viscosity and lubricity.

The following K Lube recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • K Lube
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • N/A

Lotions (Various)

Adding paraben free lotions with high levels of Vitamin B5, panthenol, and other emoilluments can change the consistency of a lube and provide nourishment to fist chute tissue.

Many lotions use glycerine, lipids, PEOs, petroleum distillates, and gums as part of their formulas. Pay attention to the label and avoid harmful additives.

Use caution when using lotion-infused lubes with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates that may be part of the lotion will cause immediate deterioration of latex, rubber, and elastics.

The following lotion recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • N/A

Mineral Oil

Mineral Oil, also known as baby oil, is a petroleum distillate. When coupled with lipids or emulsifiers, it increases lubricity and decreases absorption rates inside the fist chute.

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

One of the primary active ingredients of Elbow Grease is mineral oil, therefore, Elbow Grease recipes are included in this section. If the only source of mineral oil in the recipe is Elbow Grease, then it will be labeled (EG).

The following mineral oil recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • N/A

Petrolatum

Petrolatum, also known as petroleum jelly, is a petroleum distillate that is a common ingredient in lotions and emoillument creams.

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

Petrolatum is a primary active ingredient in Elbow Grease. Recipes in the index below with the label EG have Elbow Grease as the source of petrolatum.

Petrolatum is often, but not always an ingredient in aqueous cream and lotions. Recipes with aqueous cream and various lotions are not included in this index.

The following Elbow Grease recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Creams (Multi-ingredient)
  • N/A

  • N/A

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a lipid derived from the nuts of the shea tree. Used alone, the butter works as a base coat and as an anti-inflammatory. In most lube recipes, it is a secondary base that decreases absorption of the primary base into the tissue of the fist chute.

Avoid using this lube with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids and petroleum distillates contained therein will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following shea butter recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A

Shortening

Crisco and lard are the original fisting lubes used prior to a farm boy introducing J Lube to fisters.

Shortenings create a great base coat, and when used in lube, add a specific type of friction/drag that teases the hole.

Criso has a distinct odor, but other generic shortenings do not have the same distinct smell. Trex is the UK alternative to Crisco.

Avoid using lipid-based lubes (in this case, shortening) with latex condoms, latex gear, or rubber gear (including jockstraps). Lipids (fats) will cause immediate deterioration of these materials.

The following shortening recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • N/A
  • Solids
  • Crisco Balls
  • Frozen Lube Balls (+)

X Lube

X lube is a alphabet lube with the active ingredient of PEO. Like FFäusten, there are no additives nor preservatives in X Lube.

The fisting superstar Axel Abbysse uses this lube almost exclusively and has experimented with glow-in-the-dark additives to enhance scenes in some of his films.

The following X Lube recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Liquids (Single Ingredient)
  • X Lube
  • Creams (Single Ingredient)

Xanthan Gum

Xanthan gum is an emulsifying powder created in an industrial process where sugar is fermented by a bacteria called Xanthomonas campestris. It washes away with ease. It will spoil in a day, espeically when there are other preservatives included alongside it.

It is found in many food products, cosmetic products, and lotions. For example, Cornhusker's Lotion has a guar gum compnent to help thicken and bind the lotion's other ingredients together.

Lubes listed in this section may use xanthan gum directly as a primary ingredient, or indirectly through a lotion or hand cream.

One of the primary active ingredients of Fist Powder is xanthan gum; therefore, Fist Powder recipes are included here. Fist Powder recipes are labeled with: (FP).

The following xanthan gum recipes are organized by liquids, creams, and solids:

  • Solids

4-1-1 Lube

This mixture of K Lube, coconut oil, and shea butter creates a liquid emulsion that stays hydrated longer than PEO lubes alone. For a less viscous, slightly smoother combination, try the 420 Lube. The catchy name helps you remember ratios of ingredients.

  3. Cover and allow to sit up to 1 hour to allow clumps to dissipate. This step can be skipped if in a hurry.
  4. Uncover and microwave until solution bubbles and becomes frothy, typically 4 - 5 minutes.
  5. Remove and stir. Be cautious introducing your whisk, as scalding hot J Lube may not boil but can explode when an object breaks the surface tension after microwaving.
  6. Allow to cool (about 5 - 15 minutes), then transfer to sterile containers for use.
Longevity Notes:

If making a large batch, consider using separate sterilized containers for storage. Lube containers that were not used in play (exposed to contaminants) can last several weeks in the refrigerator.

Shelf Life: Single Use

Contributed By: @depthvortex

Ingredients

Ingredient Imperial Metric
Water 2 cups 480 mL
J Lube 4 tbsp 60 mL

Ratios can be adjusted for differing viscosities.

Blender Instructions

For best results:
  1. Add water to blender.
  2. Drizzle in powder.
  3. Mix on low speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Let sit for 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer lube to new container for a single play session.
Scalability and Blended Characteristics:

To make a large batch, use a 5 - 8 parts water to 1 part J Lube ratio. Blended J Lube will be less viscous and less tacky than shaken lube but will thicken to shaken-like results after several hours. To immediately increase viscosity, decrease the ratio of water to J Lube.

Shaker Instructions

For best results:
  1. Add 180 mL (3/4 cup) of water to shaker bottle or blender.
  2. Drizzle in half the J Lube powder (approximately 30 mL (2 tbsp)).
  3. Shake vigorously for 2 minutes and then let rest for 2 minutes.
  4. Shake again for 60 seconds, then add the remaining water and shake for 60 seconds.
  5. Add the remaining powder and shake vigorously for 60 seconds.
  6. Let rest 2 minutes, then shake for another 60 seconds.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes, shaking occasionally for 30 seconds.
  8. If your shaker isn't your dispersal container, transfer lube to new container.
Viscosity and Timing Considerations

If you are playing immediately, adjust your ratio of J Lube to water. Increase the amount of J Lube by 30 mL (2 tbsp) for play within the next 30 minutes.

Tribrid Blitz

"I combine K lube, some melted Crisco and xanthan gum using a hand blitzer. It turns it into a white slimy oily goop and keeps for up to a couple of weeks in the fridge and can be frozen."

David | Newcastle upon Tyne

Tinsley's Tincture

"I’ve been doing a liter of near boiling water, 4-5 firm squeezes of the J Lube bottle (need to get a better measuring of this), 3 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 15 pumps of gun oil, and 10 mL of 1% lidocaine."

Jake | New York

Hole Milk

"In an old J-lube bottle add 2 tbsp J Lube, 2 tbsp Elbow Grease, and 5 drops clove oil."

Randy | Milwaukee

Simple Stuff

"I mix X Lube and Fist Powder together then measure out 2-4 scoops using the X Lube cap for 16oz of water. I also add some aspercreme to the mix for some numbing."

Dominic | Denver

Copy and 'Paste'

I use 2 heaped teaspoons of xanthan gum mixed into a thick paste and heaped teaspoon of Aqueous Cream and 15 drops of clove oil. Mixed to 300 mL qty. Increase proportionally as required. Makes for a super smooth, super slippery and non-stringy lube.

Gary | Worksop

Do Not Litter

25 mL Crisco dissolved into 500 mL hot water then use that to make alphabet lube. Makes for a thicker and creamier viscosity that doesn't dry out at all and great for working someone open over a longer session with my paws or for a slower and deeper session. It's not really conducive for a punch, trash and blow out your hole kind of session though.

Twice the Fun - Half the Cost

Crisco and mineral oil. Whips up just like Elbow Grease for a fraction of the cost.

Kent | Fort Worth

Starter

K-lube with a small amount of pariffin cream, coconut oil, and a drop of Voltaren. It makes the session feel that much more ffun!

Quentin | Atlanta
